This boat tour is amazing! Carlos, our captain is super friendly, accommodating and considerate. He knows the history of the Alto Douro, could provide a lot of anecdotes and knows the spots throughout the river. We could see different landscapes in 2 hours trip. To finish, he brought us to a typical restaurant for great fish and ribs. Highly recommended! Thank you Carlos!

This experience really is a must if you visit the Douro valley! Carlos was such a wonderful host, a genuinely nice man with a great knowledge of the area. It felt like you were going on a boat with a friend rather than a tour guide. The views of that particular part of the river are incredible, and in Carlos’ smaller boat you can really experience the beauty in a way I don’t think you could on the bigger tour boats. We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant over looking the river. The owner and staff were so friendly and we enjoyed some local wines. We chatted to Carlos for what seemed like hours and were sad to say goodbye at the end of the day! Thank you Carlos for a special day we’ll remember always :
